MCB: market leader in metal distribution
MCB has specialised in metal for more than 80 years. The nine companies within the group operate as metal wholesalers. MCB operates in several industries and has an extensive product range including stainless steel, steel, aluminium, brass, copper and non-ferrous. Material storage is not the only thing MCB does: the group also has various processing capabilities in-house. Examples include decoiling, slitting, sawing, cutting and foiling.
MCB also offers various digital services, such as the web portal, EDI and web services. Besides supplying its products, MCB also wants to be the knowledge partner for its customers in the metals field. It does so, for example, through the Material Application Center (MAC, including product advice), welding services and the MCB Campus (including metal expertise training courses).
The head office is located in Valkenswaard. In addition, the group has sales offices in Belgium, Germany and France. In total, it employs over 1,000 people.
VADO involvement
MCB was founded in 1941 as “Metaal Compagnie Brabant” by the Van Kempen and Van Ettro families who, together with the Van Doorne family, have been shareholders in MCB from the very beginning. Since 2016, Aart Fortanier, CEO of VADO, has been Chairman of the Supervisory Board of MCB.
